Police in Jersey City are looking into the motive behind a violent aggravated assault that happened in the city Friday morning.
It happened inside the at 2395 John F. Kennedy Blvd around 6:40 a.m.
According to Jersey City Police officials, a 43-year-old male was assaulted inside the store by an actor with a small ax.
Police say the victim was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors treated non-life threatening injuries to his head, face and left hand.
According to Jersey City Police, the suspect fled the scene, but officers recovered the ax.
The investigation is ongoing.
