Man Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Lakeland High School

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Wanaque Police Robert Kronyak, and Ringwood Police Chief Joseph Walker announce that based upon an investigation by the Wanaque and Ringwood Police Departments, **Mr. Leo L. Schaffner, 20 years old, from Ringwood**, was charged on September 14th, regarding a false public alarm investigation involving Lakeland Regional High School Wanaque.

According to police on September 13, members of the Wanaque and Ringwood Police Departments conducted an investigation regarding social media posts directed at Lakeland Regional High School causing a false public alarm.

Police and school officials evacuated the high school then searched the building for possible weapons and explosives according to parents.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
