Man Accused of Possessing Loaded Gun, Oxycodone Pills in Newark

Newark's Special Enforcement Bureau announced the arrest of **Mr. Hakeem O. White, 30, of Newark,** for possession of a loaded handgun and CDS Thursday night.

According to authorities at approximately 10:24 p.m., several reports from concerned citizens of a man with a gun in the 500-block of Clinton Avenue sent police to the area to investigate.

Detectives reportedly observed a male fitting the description of the suspect at that location armed with a gun according to police accounts.

Police identified the suspect as **Mr. Hakeem O. White** and retrieved a loaded .22 caliber handgun, 69 Oxycodone pills, four vials of crack cocaine and $853.76 when they arrested. him.

Police charged Mr. White with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Ammunition (hollow point ammunition), Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs (Oxycodone), Possession of CDS (cocaine), and Certain Persons Prohibited from Weapon Possession.

All of the charges lodged against **Mr. White** are mere **accusations**.

He is presumed **innocent** until proven guilty in a court of law.
