A 29-year-old Atlantic City man was taken into custody for reportedly assaulting and robbing a woman during a domestic incident.
According to authorities, at 9:44 p.m. Officer Ryan Kov was stopped by a woman on the 2300 block of Atlantic Avenue. The woman had been assaulted and robbed of her belongings at gunpoint.
Investigating officers identified the suspect as Jeffrey Wright, who had fled the area prior to their arrival.
Wright was subsequently taken into custody without incident near his residence. Police charged him with simple assault, armed robbery, theft, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and certain persons not to possess a weapon.
He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
