Police in Newark are looking into a stabbing incident that left a male injured in the city's West Ward on Sunday morning.
It happened in the vicinity of 132 Carolina Avenue, where police received several reports of an injured person at approximately 3:20 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found the victim bleeding from his abdomen after being attacked at that location.
EMS transported for the victim to University Hospital for treatment as police began the process of identifying the suspect responsible for the stabbing.
The motive is under investigation.
