The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is assisting in the investigation of a stabbing that injured a male in Hazlet during the overnight hours.
According to police, at approximately 3:35 a.m, police responded to reports of an injured person in the 300 block of Middle Road.
Police and EMS arrived at the scene and found the unidentified male suffering multiple stab wounds at that location.
The victim was rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment and remained in serious condition.
Authorities are investigating a motive for the stabbing and no suspects have been arrested at this time.
