One person suffered serious injuries in a Saturday morning stabbing incident in Jersey City.
A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 4:05 a.m., police were dispatched to the vicinity of 671 Communipaw Avenue to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police located a male victim lying on the ground, suffering stab wounds at that location.
The victim was taken to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and the extent of his wounds could not be immediately confirmed as of 4:12 a.m.
According to reports, police located a firearm near the victim, but authorities have not stated if the weapon belonged to the victim at this time.
The motive for the attack is under investigation by the Jersey City Police Department.
No other injuries were reported.
