Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Christopher M. Troiano, 37, of Mahwah, on charges of possessing and distributing explicit images of minors.
According to Prosecutor Musella, on Thursday, February 3, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Troiano during a months-long Internet investigation.
The investigation revealed that Troiano used the Internet to view, download, and possess more than 1000 digital files depicting explicit prepubescent and pubescent minors.
According to Prosecutor Musella, it was determined that Troiano distributed explicit images of minors on the Internet, as well.
As a result of the investigation, Troiano was arrested on Thursday, February 3, in Paramus and charged with possession of explicit images of minors and distribution of explicit images of minors.
Troiano was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
