A rideshare driver from Middlesex County has been charged following two alarming incidents involving Princeton University students, authorities said.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, 28-year-old Dimario Wynter of Spotswood faces two counts of third-degree luring, along with two counts of harassment and an additional disorderly persons offense for allegedly attempting to solicit a sexual act from one of the victims.
Wynter, identified as a driver for Lyft, was arrested on April 30, 2026, at the Princeton Police Department and has since been released pending future court appearances.
Authorities said the first incident occurred on April 16 around noon on Prospect Avenue in Princeton. A Princeton University student reported that a man driving a black Jeep Patriot stopped and asked for directions.
The suspect then allegedly handed her a $100 bill, exited the vehicle, approached her, and demanded a sexual act. The student dropped the money and fled the area.
In a second incident the following morning, April 17, at approximately 9:30 a.m., another Princeton University student reported a similar encounter on Ivy Lane.
In that case, the suspect—described as driving a dark van or SUV—again asked for directions, handed the victim $100, and asked her to leave with him.
The suspect fled after the student returned the money.
An investigation led by Detective Martin Krzywicki of the university’s Department of Public Safety ultimately identified Wynter as the suspect.
The incidents remain under investigation. Authorities urge anyone with additional information to contact law enforcement.
