Monmouth County authorities are warning residents to take proper precautions when it comes to mitigating risk of vehicle theft since it is on the rise in the county this year.
According to data gathered by authorities, in 2017, a reported 230 vehicles were stolen.
Many of which were unlocked,with key/fobs left inside vehicle authorities said.
Police are reminding residents to continue to report suspicious activity to police.
