Love Newark First, a Newark-based, community-focused charity is holding their fifth annual "Love Your Community Day" on September 26.
In the past "Love Your Community Day" would give out backpacks filled with school supplies, food, ice cream and hold events for the community.
In deference to the COVID-19 pandemic, changes had to be made to this year's event. For this year's event, Love Newark First will be giving out free Wendy's meals to the first 400 people. They will also be giving out masks, gloves and hand sanitizers while supplies last.
Anyone who wishes to attend must register and follow all social distancing guidelines. Attendees are also required to wear a mask during pick-up.
This years "Love Your Community Day" will be held at the Wendy's at 462 Chancellor Avenue in Newark from 12-2 p.m.
