Linden Men Arrested After Using Credit Card Stolen Out of Carteret in Elizabeth Fast Food Restaurants

Two Linden men were arrested last night after using a credit card stolen during an armed robbery in Carteret at two fast-food restaurants in Elizabeth, police said.

Police said that 19-year-old Kai J. Godfrey and 18-year-old Noah J. Settle, both of Linden, were placed under arrest after an armed robbery Tuesday night in Carteret.

On Tuesday, a woman getting off the bus on Roosevelt Avenue was approached by an armed man who took her "Michael Kors" handbag before getting into an awaiting vehicle, police said.

Police were alerted that the victim's credit card was used to make purchases at a Burger King and Wendy's in Elizabeth. The suspects also made an attempt to purchase gas, police added.

Settle was charged with robbery and weapons charges. 

Godfrey, was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Both men are being held on $75,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

No weapon was recovered, police said.
