Linden Crash Leaves One Person in Critical Condition

Authorities in Linden are looking into the cause of a crash that sent one person to the hospital suffering serious injuries early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred just before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the 20-year-old was reportedly traveling west on E. Elizabeth Ave in a 2008 Suzuki sedan when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a 2014 Honda that was parked near Lincoln St.

He was extricated from the severely damaged vehicle then rushed to University Hospital in Newark, suffering life-threatening injuries police said.

According to police, the Office of Emergency Management was contacted to provide lights and other safety devices while a fatal crash investigation team arrived to look into what caused the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information is urged to call Inv. Jimmy Solano at (908) 474-8505.

There were no other serious injuries reported.
