There is an active search for several suspects wanted for a violent late-night stabbing that has the victim fighting for their life this morning.
The incident happened in the Newark Ironbound community of Elm Street at around 11 p.m. where several 911 calls had police in the vicinity of 146 for an injured person.
Units arrived at the scene and requested EMS for a person bleeding after suffering a severe stab injury at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where they remain in critical but stable condition according to preliminary reports.
Authorities say two to three suspects were observed running from the scene immediately after the incident.
The motive has not been determining by police.
