Police in Pine Beach are investigating a pedestrian strike that left a man injured on a street in the Township on Monday, Wednesday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 226 U.S. 9 near the 7-Eleven to investigate reports of an injured person.
Police and EMS arrived at the scene found an unidentified person suffering severe injuries after a car struck them at that location.
Authorities say the victim was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where doctors left them in critical condition.
The investigation into what caused the incident remains active and ongoing.
