Papa Silverberg left us a few years back.
But the gift of the love he displayed for his bride of nearly 64 years was admirable and courageous. It may be easy to see over six decades of marriage as admirable but to call it courageous may be surprising.
Here's why it's courageous too!
In our many conversations with them, he told stories about how he stood for his marriage. He stayed when things were challenging. He kept his word, and that alone is courageous.
As someone who worked in the family business in his later years, he brought sage wisdom to every room and situation. It was the kind of wisdom (with humility) that only comes over time and by God's grace. His entrepreneurial work ethic was consistent and intelligent!
Regarding marriage, one of the last conversations we had with both was about wisdom on having a healthy marriage. They were sure to let us know how important communication is in marriage.
Part of that is listening and hearing the other person's heart in humility.
We wanted to share this glimpse of wisdom today because we know out of all of the over 17 million readers here, that it's highly likely that someone is going through a rough time in marriage, and it may be an overflow from business (or not).
But let this be your sign to hear each other out as you grow through it. We're rooting for you.
