Police are asking for the public's help in locating the driver of a Buick SUV who fled after hitting a man in a wheelchair.
According to police, officers responded to the Leonia Avenue intersection on Fort Lee Road, where they found a 78-year-old man injured after being thrown nearly 20 feet with wheelchair.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with six broken ribs, a broken clavicle and a possibly broken hip.
Investigation at the scene revealed that the vehicle that fled the scene was a 2016 Buick Encore SUV. According to a witness, the vehicle was a dark color.
