Police in Newark are searching for a suspect following a shots fired incident that occurred Monday night in the city’s North Ward.

At approximately 10:50 p.m., a ShotSpotter device was activated in the area of Orange Street and Clifton Avenue.
Responding officers arrived on scene and secured the area after discovering a burgundy Chrysler 300 crashed into trees at the location.
The vehicle was found with multiple bullet holes.
According to preliminary information, an Amazon delivery driver reported seeing another vehicle pull alongside the Chrysler and open fire.
The Chrysler then struck the Amazon delivery truck before crashing.
No serious injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The suspect involved fled the scene and remains at large.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is urged to contact Newark Police.
