Lakewood Man Charged with Sexually Assault

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Lakewood Police Chief Gregory Meyer today announced the arrest of Agileo Ramirez, 31, of Lakewood, by Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit Detective Alex Dasti and Lakewood Police Detective Charles Messer, with assistance from Ptl. Felix Rivera.

Officials say the defendant, Ramirez, is charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact and one count of Sexual Assault.

According to authorities, the investigation began on the evening of July 6th after suspicion of the abuse was reported to Lakewood Police Department.

Officials say the investigation by the partnering agencies discovered evidence of alleged abuse of a female minor, known to Ramirez, that occurred over the past two years.

Senior Assistant Prosecutor Mara Brater approved the charges then served the suspect July 7th according to officials.

According to authorities, Nicole’s Law and a no victim contact order was implemented. ICE was notified and provided a detainer and as per procedure, notification was made to the Division of Child Protection and Permanency.

The media and the public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
