Lakewood Home Invasion Leaves Resident Shot in Rear-End

Police are investigation a home invasion, that left a male resident Tuesday night suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police were called to an apartment on Martin Luther King Drive for a report of a shooting at approximately 11:45 p.m.

Initial investigation revealed that two masked men in sweat suits, forced entry into an apartment where they were confronted by two male residents.

A struggle ensued resulting in a shooting that injured one of the residents in the rear end.

The two suspects fled on foot as the two residents escaped through the back window.

The injured resident was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood by a taxi. The victim was later transferred to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Further investigations revealed a female resident, who was sleeping during the incident, was unharmed and claims was unaware of what transpired.

The incident is under investigation. No arrests have been made, added police.
