RLS Media was on location for the annual preparations for the 'Incredible Duck Race' that took place on Saturday in Kearny, gearing up for an excellent community outing scheduled for September 16, 2023.

Councilwoman Doyle, along with the Kearny-Belleville Elks Club members, the Kearny High School Football team, and firefighters, came together to roll out and test the course for the much-anticipated and loved community event.

The location for this year's Incredible Duck Race will be 300 Belgrove Drive in Kearny, running from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

This day promises to be a fun-filled community gathering with over 40 prizes up for grabs, including a grand prize trip to experience the vibrant Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

The event is not just about excitement and prizes; it serves a charitable purpose. Participants can adopt a duck for the race, and the proceeds will go towards various noble causes.

Ducks can be adopted from multiple locations, including the ELKS Club, VFW, Bone Appetit, Gina's, and The Scots in Kearny. Alternatively, interested individuals can contact an Elk member who is selling ducks.

Melanie Pasquarelli, Leading Knight and Duck Race Coordinator shared with RLS Media the group's recent heartwarming act of delivering essential items to a Kearny Veteran who had recently been homeless and had just secured housing. "The Veteran now has everything he needs from furniture to bedding to pots and pans to towels and more," said Pasquarelli   .

The Incredible Duck Race promises a lively atmosphere, with live music, vendors, a beer garden, and food trucks, making it a perfect outing for families and friends alike.

Admission to the event is FREE, providing an opportunity for everyone to participate.

According to Pasquarelli, the event is the Kearny-Belleville Elks' largest annual fundraiser, enabling them to support various community programs.

This includes sending middle schoolers to Peer Leadership, assisting Kearny and Belleville high schools with Project Graduation programs, sending special needs kids to Elks Camp Moore, purchasing furniture for Veterans transitioning from homelessness to housing, buying toys for children in need during Christmas, and much more.

The Incredible Duck Race is a testament to the Kearny-Belleville community's spirit of togetherness, fun, and charity.

I've had the experience of witnessing the breathtaking work of the Kearny-Belleville Elks during the COVID-19 pandemic and their determination to deliver much-needed resources to the community during those crucial times.

With an array of exciting prizes, live music, and enjoyable activities, the event will undoubtedly bring joy to all while contributing to the betterment of the community. RLS Media will be in attendance to witness another excellent Kearny-Belleville event that will benefit those in need.
