Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported the arrest and charging of a Keansburg man, Mr. Kevin Bacon, 46, in a murder case from the Fords section of Woodbridge Township.
The incident occurred on November 29, 2023. At around 4:49 p.m., Woodbridge Police received a call for a welfare check at a Paul Street residence in Fords.
Officers responding to the scene discovered Ms. April Duncza, 39, of Fords, with severe head trauma.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Eric Manresa of the Woodbridge Police Department and Detective Javier Morillo of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office spearheaded the investigation.
Their findings suggested that the murder was not a random act of violence; the victim and the perpetrator, Bacon, had a known prior relationship.
Bacon was arrested on November 30, 2023, without incident and faces a charge of first-degree murder.
He is currently detained at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center, awaiting a Pre-Trial detention hearing.
