A 21-year-old Keansburg man has been charged in connection with a shooting that left a woman wounded in Neptune Township, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.

Authorities identified the suspect as Jaiden V. Edwards, who faces charges of first-degree attempted murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The investigation began on Monday, June 22, when Neptune Township Police responded at approximately 5:43 p.m. to reports of a shooting near the Asbury Park Circle and State Highway 35 South.
A short time later, a female victim arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.
A joint investigation conducted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Neptune Township Police Department, with assistance from the Prosecutor’s Office Gang Unit, identified Edwards as the individual responsible for the shooting, authorities said.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
