Juvenile Struck by Car in Newark

There were no severe injuries reported in a pedestrian strike that hospitalized a juvenile on a street in Newark Saturday afternoon.

Police say EMS were called to the vicinity of South 11th Street and Central Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m. after receiving calls of a pedestrian injured at that location.

Emergency crews arrived and found the unidentified teen suffering non-life threatening injuries after a car struck them at that location.

The victim was transported to University hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Newark Police.
