Juvenile Among Four Victims Injured in Two Separate Newark Shootings

A juvenile was among four victims shot in two separate overnight shooting that occurred in the Newark overnight.

According to a preliminary investigation, in the first incident, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 53 Garside Avenue shortly before 10:15 p.m

Officers arrived to find a male and a female suffering bullet wounds at that location.

Police officials said they found the male victim with a gunshot injury in his thigh and they located the injured female in the 30's block of Cutler suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound in her leg.

In the other incident, gunfire rang out in the 400 block of South 16th Street at around midnight where several police units arrived to find a juvenile male and an adult female struck by gunfire at that location.

Police say the teen boy and the woman were transported to University Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Both shooting incidents are under investigation by the Newark Police Department.

There were no arrests reported.
