A Passaic County jury has found a Paterson man guilty of multiple sexual assault charges stemming from the 2024 assault of an incapacitated woman.
According to information released by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, Jericho Banchon, 24, of Paterson, was convicted of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and aggravated criminal sexual contact following a jury trial before Superior Court Judge Justine A. Niccollai.
The investigation began on December 9, 2024, after the Paterson Police Department notified the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit of a reported sexual assault involving an adult woman.
Prosecutors said detectives interviewed the victim, who reported that Banchon sexually assaulted her at a residence in Paterson while she was incapacitated.
On August 4, 2026, the jury returned guilty verdicts on all charges submitted for its consideration.
Judge Niccollai scheduled Banchon’s sentencing for December 11, 2026, and ordered that he remain in custody at the Bergen County Jail pending sentencing.
The case was investigated by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit in collaboration with the Paterson Police Department.
