Jersey City Woman Hospitalized After Driver Flees Scene of Morning Collision

Hudson County are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Jersey City that left a pedestrian seriously injured Saturday morning.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is leading the investigation into the incident, which occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on May 9.

 

Officials said the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a pedestrian struck near the intersection of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Duncan Avenue. Responding officers found a 37-year-old woman suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 

The victim, a resident of Jersey City, was transported by EMS to Jersey City Medical Center, where she remains in stable condition.

 

Investigators said the driver involved in the crash fled the scene and did not remain to assist the victim.

 

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under active investigation.
