An overnight stabbing that occurred in a neighborhood in Jersey City is under investigation by police.
According to authorities, the incident happened in the area of Summit Avenue Academy Street before 7:30 p.m. where 911 calls had police on the scene investigating reports of an injured person.
Units arriving at the scene found a person suffering a stab wound to the chest according to authorities.
EMS transported the alert and conscious victim to Jersey City Medical Center in serious by stable condition.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
There were no arrests reported.
