Police in Jersey City are looking into the motive behind a violent stabbing incident that occurred in one of the city's neighborhoods during the overnight hours.
It happened at approximately 3 a.m. in the vicinity of Summit and Pavonia avenues.
Police say units arrived at the scene and found a seriously injured person suffering stab wounds at that location.
According to police, the victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and remained at the hospital for observation.
Police say at least one person suffered injuries in the stabbing incident that is under an active investigation.
There were no immediate reports of charges at this time.
