Hudson County authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Jersey City.
According to preliminary information, police responded to the 200 block of Cornelison Avenue at approximately 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a person shot.
Emergency responders arrived and located a shooting victim suffering from serious injuries.
The victim was later pronounced dead.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene and joined Jersey City authorities in the investigation.
Details regarding what led to the shooting, as well as the identity of the victim, have not yet been released.
No information regarding possible suspects or arrests was immediately available.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
