The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit and the Hammonton Police Department are investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred Saturday evening on the White Horse Pike where a pedestrian was struck and killed, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

According to Prosecutor Shoill, on Saturday, September 11, the Hammonton Police Department responded to a pedestrian motor vehicle crash on the White Horse Pike just west of Central Avenue.

A preliminary investigation shows a black Ram truck, operated by Mr. Jeffrey Dooner, 55, of Margate, was traveling west on the White Horse Pike and was crossing the intersection at Central Avenue.

Prosecutor Shill said the pedestrian, Ms. Nancy Martinez, 60, of Jersey City, was walking north across the White Horse Pike when she was struck as she entered into the path of the Ram vehicle.

Medical professionals pronounced Mrs. Martinez dead at the scene, and her next of kin was notified.
