Police detained one suspect who they believe is connected with a shots fired incident that occurred at a location in Jersey City on Tuesday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 40 Crescent Avenue to investigate reports of suspects inside a vehicle firing shots at unknown targets just before 11:35 p.m.
First responding officers arrived at the scene taped off the area after locating evidence that a shooting occurred, but after a search of the neighborhood, no victims were found according to officials.
Police began a search for an older model gray Honda that was observed speeding from the scene immediately after the shooting.
Officials say police found shell casings in the vicinity of Cummunipaw and Bergen Avenue.
The incident remains under investigation.
