Authorities in Jersey City and Newark have launched a search for suspects involved in an armed carjacking late Monday night, during which two vehicles were stolen.
According to police, the incident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. in the area of Marshall Street in Jersey City. The suspects, reportedly armed, stole a red 2017 Toyota Highlander and a Honda CR-V.
As Jersey City officers conducted an extensive search in multiple parts of the city, Newark Police notified them that one of the vehicles had been tracked to the vicinity of Roanoke Avenue in Newark's Ironbound neighborhood.
It is currently unclear if the vehicles have been recovered.
No arrests have been made, and no injuries were reported during the incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
