Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Garfield Avenue on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Prosecutor Esther Suarez at approximately 11:58 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a multi-vehicle collision in the area of Garfield Avenue and Wegman Parkway.
Upon arrival, Prosecutor Suarez responding officers located multiple damaged vehicles and the lifeless body of a female driver. Ms. Desiree Milow, 36, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:26 p.m.
Six vehicles were damaged in the collision. Five additional individuals were transported to Jersey City Medical Center to be treated for injuries.
Prosecutor Suarez said a preliminary investigation found Milow’s Chevy Tahoe collided with multiple vehicles along Garfield Avenue between Danforth Avenue and Wegman Parkway before coming to a final stop.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating this case.
