Authorities have released the identity of a 34-year-old Jersey City man found dead in the waters off Liberty State Park early Thursday morning.
Wednesday evening, Jersey City police responded to the park to assist State Park police for man in the water.
A short time later, police recovered the body of Dwight Handy, approximately 15 feet off the rocks. Handy, who was reportedly identified after police found his wallet and driver's license, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:39 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
