City police are investigating an apparent robbery that left a man suffering a stab wound to the chest.
A 47-year-old Jersey City man told police he was walking home on Kennedy Boulevard when a man approached him and stabbed him in the chest around 2:45 a.m. As the man dropped to the ground, the suspect took off with his HTC Android phone valued at $400.
The victim was found bleeding at the corner of Kennedy Boulevard and 11th Street in Union City, after walking seven blocks from where the robbery occurred.
The city man - who reportedly had a piece of the knife lodge in his chest - was transported to Jersey City Medical-Barnabas Health in critical condition. However, officials said today victim has since been listed in stable condition.
