Jersey City Police are investigating a violent stabbing that occurred early Sunday morning in the area of Summit Avenue.
Shortly before 4:00 a.m., officers responded to reports of an injured person in the 700 block of Summit Avenue and arrived to find a man lying in the snow with stab wounds.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available.
Residents in the area told police they heard screaming around 3:00 a.m., but did not see anyone when they looked outside.
The suspect fled the scene before officers’ arrival, and no arrests have been reported at this time.
The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
