Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced that on Wednesday, March 16, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit arrested William Dudek, 56, of Jersey City, on charges relating to an explicit crime involving an 11-year-old girl.
According to Prosecutor Suarez, Dudek was charged with Explicit Assault by Contact and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Prosecutor Suarez said that he was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance. The State has filed a detention motion, which is tentatively scheduled to be heard on Wednesday, March 23.
According to Prosecutor Suarez, the crime occurred on Wednesday, March 16, before 4 p.m. on Central Avenue in Jersey City. Dudek is a stranger to the victim.
