Jersey City Juveniles Arrested for Auto Theft in Newark

An anonymous tip phoned in to authorities had Newark Police arrest two male juveniles from Jersey City on Wednesday, for receiving stolen property, namely a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was reported stolen from their hometown authorities said.

According to authorities, at approximately 4 p.m., officers canvassing the area of Clinton and Chadwick avenues observed a vehicle fitting the description provided by the concerned citizen who provided the tip.

Officers pulled their police vehicle behind the Jeep after it entered a driveway on Peshine Avenue and three occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police said two juveniles were apprehended and charged. A third suspect remains at large.

These are accusations. The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
