Jersey City Firefighters Battle Multi-Alarm House Fire

Firefighters in Jersey City battled a stubborn three-alarm blaze that tore through a house in the city on Monday morning.

According to preliminary reports, firefighters were called to the 50's block of Cottage Place after they received several 911 calls reporting fire inside a house at around 1:45 a.m.

Crews arrived at the scene foud heave fire extending from a house at that location.

Firefighters stretched several lines and began to battle the blaze from the exterior while crews made their way inside the structure to check for trapped and injured occupants.

Jersey City fire officials transmitted a second then third alarm as fire began to extend through the roof of the house according to reports.

The fire was brought under control in about two hours, with no injuries reported and the cause under investigation.
