Jersey City Firefighters Battle Fast Moving House Fire

Fire officials in Jersey City are investigating a fire that damaged a house in a neighborhood in the city on Wednesday morning.

According to preliminary reports, the fast-moving fire broke out in a two-story house located in the 50's block of Bowers Street at approximately 2:30 a.m.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene found smoke and flames coming from the first floor of the home and began to battle the fire, according to reports.

While firefighters began to extinguish the blaze, rescue crews made their way into the home to search for trapped and injured occupants, which came back negative.

EMS treated two people for non-life threatening injuries.

Fire officials placed the fire under control in under an hour with the cause under investigation.
