Iselin Man Charged with Woodbridge Murder

Middlesex County authorities are reporting that a man has been charged for the murder of a household member and the attempted murder of another.

Officials said in a statement that Mr. ​Rahul Anumala, 45, of Iselin, was arrested and charged Wednesday with one count of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree attempted murder.  

According to county officials, an investigation by Detective Kevin Goins of the Woodbridge Police Department and  Detective Paul Kelley of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’sOffice revealed Anumala assaulted and killed one household member and then attempted to kill another.  

The murder and attempted murder location were not immediately available, and several attempts to reach a spokesperson for the county through phone calls and emails were not immediately returned. 

Officials id Anumala is presently lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, where he is being held pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court.  

The investigation is active and is continuing.
