According to Cranford police, the suspect was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into what officials described as an intentional and indiscriminate vandalism spree that occurred between April 1 and April 6.

Investigators allege the man damaged 67 vehicles in the communities of Cranford, Linden, Rahway, Hillside, Woodbridge, and Edison.

Police said the suspect allegedly used brick pavers to smash vehicle windshields, causing extensive property damage throughout the affected areas.

The man has been charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief and is currently being held at the Union County Jail pending court proceedings.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding a motive. Court records did not list an attorney representing the defendant or a scheduled court date as of Thursday.
