Irvington’s Unity Day Celebrates Community, Culture

Irvington's 22nd Annual Unity Day brought together residents in a celebration of community spirit, marked by music, food, and a profound sense of togetherness. SupportHeld at One Civic Square in front of City Hall, the event was a testament to the commitment of Honorable Mayor Tony Vauss and the Irvington Municipal Council to foster unity and positivity within the community.

This year’s festivities featured a nostalgic nod to old-school hip-hop, with performances by renowned artists such as Grand Puba and Lord Jamar. 

The lineup also included other notable acts, including Cream & Philly, Nice & Smooth, and DJ Qua, creating a vibrant atmosphere that resonated deeply with the diverse crowd.

IrvMayor Vauss, known for his dedication to community engagement, highlighted the significance of Unity Day, emphasizing its role in showcasing the positive aspects of Irvington. “Unity Day is more than just a celebration; it’s a testament to the strength and resilience of Irvington. Together, we can showcase the positive aspects of our community and create lasting memories for our children,” he remarked.

The event, which featured activities such as face painting, bouncy rides, and an array of food vendors, underscored the importance of providing safe and enjoyable experiences for residents of all ages.

Notably, Mayor Vauss has maintained a record of zero incidents of violence throughout the years of hosting Unity Day, stressing the event’s success in promoting a safe and harmonious environment.
