Irvington Township Mayor Speaks on Passing of Nashawn Brooks

Mayor Tony Vauss joins the Irvington community in mourning the untimely passing of Irvington High School graduate, Nashawn Brooks, and the others who lost their lives in the terrible car accident that occurred on Tuesday night.

Mayor Vauss extends prayers for all of those who passed and prayers to the family and friends who mourn them.

“Nashawn’s passing is a devastating loss to our community.

While I did not know him personally, I have followed Nashawn’s impressive career playing football and wrestling for Irvington High School and the numerous titles and awards he has received as a result of his hard work and dedication.

Losing someone as young and promising as Nashawn, is losing a part of our future.

My deepest and sincerest condolences go out to all of his family and friends,” said Mayor Vauss.

A candlelight vigil remembering Nashawn is scheduled to occur on June 11, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at Irvington High School.

Mayor Vauss encourages everyone who plans to attend to remember to practice social distancing and to wear masks or face coverings.
