Firefighters in Irvington Township made quick work of a rapidly moving fire that broke out inside a building early Tuesday morning.
Crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Ellis Avenue around 4 a.m. following reports of a house fire.
When units arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the basement of a vacant building and immediately stretched at least one hose line to knock down the blaze.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
