Ironbound Crash Among Several in Newark Overnight; Injuries Reported

Several overnight crashes in the city have police investigating. 

EMS transported two people to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a crash that occurred at around 2:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Lake Street.

In another incident, at around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Lafayette Street and Union Street, a two car crash sent first responders to the scene where three people were injured. One person remains hospitalized with serious injuries. An occupant of one of the vehicles  was reported to be a law enforcement officer, suffered minor injuries. It is not immediately known what department the officer is employed. 

A car that slammed into a pole in the 90's block of Bergen Street at around 1 a.m. sent police to the area where the occupants fled the scene on foot. Authorities closed a portion of Bergen Street for PSEG to work on the pole. 

A vehicle that overturned in the area of Vermont and Ricord Street shortly after 6 a.m. sent EMS to the scene for reported injuries. 
None of the injured were reported to be serious.
