Middlesex County Authorities announced that the Woodbridge Township Police Department (WPD) is actively investigating the armed robbery of a Brinks Company armored vehicle at approximately 11:30 am Tuesday, March 7, outside the Home Depot Store located at 1555 St.Georges Avenue in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township.

According to the Woodbridge Police Department, an ongoing investigation determined that two armed individuals approached the driver of the armored vehicle as he (the driver) was exiting the rear of the Home Depot in possession of a secured bank bag.

Police say the two suspects (of undetermined race) wore face coverings, dark hooded sweatshirts, and dark-colored pants.

The two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle (description pending) in the direction of Rahway – the adjoining town to Woodbridge – with an undetermined amount of cash and negotiable instruments.

The WPD is requesting that anyone with information that might aid in the investigation contact Detective Andrew Kondracki at 732-634-7700.
