A crime scene was ordered to a neighborhood in Newark's South Ward to assist detectives in an investigation after a body was found early Wednesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 100 block of Bragaw Avenue after receiving calls of an unconscious and responsive person.
Units arrived at the police and EMS arrived at the scene found the victim and immdiately launched an investigation into the cause of the person's death.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said they could not confirm a homicide investigation at this time.
