Lakewood Township Police have launched an active investigation into the cause of death of a man found inside a vehicle Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:15 a.m., police were dispatched to the vicinity of 1690 Madison Avenue to investigate reports of an unconscious person.
Officers arrived and found an unconscious and unresponsive man inside a vehicle in a gas station parking lot who was pronounced dead moments later.
Police believe the incident resulted from a medical condition, but the State Regional Medical Examiner's office will determine the official cause of the man's death.
According to reports, authorities are trying to determine precisely how long the victim was at the location, but it appeared it was an 'extended' time.
